Magnificent Moroccan rug with a Berber design, commonly known as "Sabra rug" or "Cactus silk rug" are a Flatweave rug hand woven on traditional looms in Morocco by the Berber craftsman making each carpet a little different, and are simply beautiful. These Flatweave rugs are made of agave silk and have wonderful colors and textures and hand dyed for a special touch, and each rug takes around 20-30 days to be woven by hand.
There are numerous tales surrounding the origin of Cactus silk rug, the material used to create these Moroccan Berber rugs. One of them is that they are composed of Cactus silk, a natural fiber derived from the aloe vera cactus plant. The plant's fibers are woven and dyed in various hues. The second version is that Cactus silk rug is a rayon fiber imported from several nations and used by Moroccan artists to weave some of the most stunning Moroccan rugs.
